Note: After obtaining the publishing rights to “Maple Leaf Rag,” Stark Publishing Company commissioned Sydney Brown to write lyrics for Joplin’s music (1903). In 1950 the music was released with revisions and new lyrics, by Jule Styne and Bob Russell.
