One the best versions of this song was done by gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt in 1937 while he was rapidly gaining recognition as one of the finest jazz instrumentalists of the era. Djangos original introduction to the main melody showcases his use of octaves, power chords, harmonics, and virtuoso runs that anticipates an adaption of this tune that is pure Django. Djangos solo features blues-style bending notes, rich arpeggios, and runs that traverse almost the full range of the guitar. The song became re-popularized as the opening song of Woody Allens 1999 movie release Sweet and Lowdown.
